My simple - and excuse me if already expressed - take on X has to do with its use carnally. X is synonymous with
sex. As in rated "X" or triple "X".

I agree but I think that's only one of the multitude of meanings that X takes on in this books. I think the idea of X as an intersection, as several people have previously described, is the most helpful for me. (See pg 502 re: annular fusion.)
