Depending on your lifestyle and commitments, it could be done in a week, enjoyably. I finished tonight after starting on June 25. I think this is a great book, not the easiest to understand but that is sort of the point, isn't it?

It took me just over three weeks, reading anywhere between 0 and 3 hours a day, but generally probably an hour and a half each day. I did read another, much lighter book concurrently (Nicole Krauss's The History of Love. I didn't enjoy it), and towards the end of IJ I started to take notes.

Regarding Gravity's Rainbow, I'm currently on my second attempt. I first tried in 2007, and gave up after 500 pages and 3 months. Fingers crossed!
