How many bookmarks do you use?

I have 37 active bookmarks using Kindle for iPhone.
1 to save my place, 36 more to mark favorite lines.

I use a red colored pencil for my bookmark as well as circling each footnote. I have a normal bookmark for the endnotes and I always read with a mechanical Bic pencil for annotations. I highly recommend the red pencil for footnote circling.

I might get some baby post-its for this my second read, in addition to a new ribbon for where I should be to stay on schedule.

I use my favourite wooden bookmark - headed by a blue fish and labeled "Huatulco" (sp?) after its place of Mexican origin - for the main text and basic paper one for the next footnote.

I'm cursed with an excellent memory, so if I need to refer back to some previous passage I can usually find it with a quick flick though. That may change after 900+ pages, of course. The gentle pace of the IS schedule means that I have plenty of opportunity to skip back and do some craft re-reading in the course of the week.

I did think about scribbling a chronology on a piece of paper, but I find the structure is pretty east to follow (again, so far).

two book marks and three post it type stickies...one of my book marks is actually a cardboard stickie holder from a catalog...very convenient

...and lots of underlining and markups to remember favorite passages/word usage

I'm using two bookmarks in each copy - so technically four! I have a copy from the library and one I bought and I keep one at my office so I don't have to lug it back and forth. I also have a notebook for jottings. Not using any other stickies, etc. this time - my first time - but can see using them when I re-read.
