I'm 47 and reading DFW for the first time. Always meant to read IJ and this project is just the nudge I needed. Love it so far and think it's fantastic that so many diverse voices are going to be discussing this. And as so many have said - way to go you guys - I can't imagine tackling this at 16! |

48 Started the book last fall; bailed somewhere 400-500pp in. Went back in the spring and finished in April. |

I'm 24 tomorrow. Before IJ, the longest book I ever read was Underworld by Don DeLillo. Put that in your fact-pipe. |

I'm 39. I read Bolano's "2666" this spring, so I'm less intimidated by IJ than I was years ago...this is my first time reading a DFW novel though I've read a handful of essays/articles. |

I'm twenty and on my second reading. My first reading was only a few months ago, but two of my best friends picked up copies so I began rereading along with them. We all actually started about a month and a half too early, and wouldn't even have been aware of this project were it not for my brother, another Wallace fanatic, tipping me off to it. So far the book has kept all three of us rapt and bewildered, and it was also one of the primary comforts that sustained us through a 10 day camping trip that we spent much of trapped in a damp tent, surrounded by Virginian forests and severe thunderstorms. (we'd store our books in plastic bags when we weren't reading to avoid damage, in case you were wondering) |

I'm 19, turning 20 in the middle of this. This is my second attempt at IJ. I first tied when I was 15 and I devoured everything up to about page 130, where the narrative became too dense for me to take... |

41 here. It's my third reading of IJ, with both previous readings over ten years ago, so it's nice to come back to it and have a place to hash out all the details and clues. Just before this group started, I picked up a copy of Mason & Dixon just to sample it, and I had to force myself to put it down for the summer. I haven't read other Pynchon or the other authors so often compared to DFW. But M&D was looking to be a lot of fun. |
