Pg. 194 Unit #1 is described - the ballet of the AA group dynamics. If you've been an AA for a few years you know the feeling of being in a room sharing things with other AA's, but you are really a group of people experiencing "isolation-in-union". In the rooms of AA you are isolated from the outside world. This works for a long time - but then - well - then there is that outside world. Inside/Outside. DFW has used 3 words to nail the main chink in the armor of AA for me. Lots of snapping going on in my brain right now. What about the word union used by DFW throughout IJ? |
