Infinite Summer

Right now I am using 3 bookmarks. One, as a standard leave where I left off. Another one for footnotes. Another one for the really long footnotes that I can finish in one sitting. And lastly a bookmark for page 223. I guess thats an important part. NOw that I think of it, I could probably be use an infinite amount of bookmarks, I could concievably use one for J.O.I's filmography.

Just two. One for my place in the footnotes, and one for the "prose", the "novel", the primary material let's say. for the longer footnotes(just got to 24), i just sit and read through. Then the flipping commences. I don't really mind it though. Each time another piece clicks into place, it is very satisfying.

2-3 bookmarks. One for the story. One for the endnotes. An occasional 3rd for the longer endnotes. Page 223 I've photocopied and taped to the inside front cover.

Three. One for my place in the main part of the book, one for the endnotes, and one for page 223.

so far i have two (but i use post it notes, haha) and a notebook for me to jot things down in. which sits tucked into whatever part of the book it seems necessary at, at that point in time.

I've been using post-its, too: one for where I am, one for endnotes, and one for the weekly Monday target -- to try to keep me from falling behind. Sounds like I'll need to at least dogear 223, but I haven't got there yet. And I have a stack of post-its for notes (names of years, questions for later, words to look up).

I've got those tape things with the colored flags at the end—one for where I am, one for where I should be at the end of the reading segment on Monday or Friday, and one at the beginning of the footnotes. I think I have one at Footnote 24 as well. I use highlighters and pencil for everything else, 'cause I'm a nerd, but this is a pretty nerdy thread we have going. Thanks for giving me the idea of copying pg 223 (I was not aware of its importance as a reference tool yet) and keeping it handy.

I hope someone found that totally interesting.

2 bookmarks, plus a little notebook for vocab I need to jot down, character details, page numbers, acronyms, locations I want to visit, topics to follow up on, and the list goes on...

So far a band-aid where I'm actually at and a piece of paper to save my spot in the endnotes/write down words I don't know.

I have the bookstore-receipt from my purchase of IJ as a bookmark in the end notes. I'm using a folded-in-half 8.5x11 sheet with the IS "syllabus" printed on it, one half to mark the page where I've left off and the other half to mark the next reading goal.
