What book are we going to read for The Spring?

I think it would be good to carry over the momentum from this book into another great book. Anyone else interested?

I'd like to to suggest Ulysses or Brothers Karamazov.

Brothers would be interesting because is quite related to IJ in many ways. Another member on this forum sent me a great article that explains how DFW was influenced by Dostoevsky and how IJ mirrors Brothers in several aspects. DFW also wrote an interesting essay about Dostoevsky and Brothers so we know he was a fan.

I am suggesting Ulysses would be a good book to have others to discuss it with.

I'd love to read "Brothers" or anything by Dostoevsky, especially after reading DFW's essay on his writing. I read C and P back in high school and hated it because it was assigned to our class during a family vacation to Disney and I was always behind the eight ball.

Any Dostoyevsky sounds like a good idea to me.

I emailed the info email address to see if the ISummer leaders have any interest. I will let you know. If not we'll need to figure out the technical details and ramp up between now and Winter, Spring? I think Fall is too early.
