Infinite Summer

I haven't read any of the other posts in here because I'm not sure if spoilers are allowed and I don't want to read any spoilers, so I apologize if this question has been asked before. Without wanting to get too much info or any spoilers, can someone just tell me if this discrepancy is intentional, or if I've made a mistake?

JOI killed himself in the Year of the Trial Sized Dove Bar.

On pg 172, it says that the Year of the Yushityu... is almost exactly 3 years after JOI killed himself.

On pg 142, it says that August DAU was four years after JOI killed himself.

And we've read the timeline by now, which says that The Year of Dairy Products from the American Heartland is in between the year of the Yushityu... and the year of DAU. How is this possible? It makes sense in every other context but not regarding the Yushityu/DAU years. Page 142 HAS to be wrong, right?
