How old are people in this group?

24 here, and on my first time through, although I've absorbed Consider the Lobster, Broom of the System, most of the Harpers essays, some of Oblivion and (I believe) all of the DFW interviews during the past two months.

It was a wonderful coincidence to find this group overlapping with the exact time I've chosen to read IJ. Unemployment helps.

Hi everyone, I'm Mark, 48. I've read most of the Harper's essays, but it's my first time through IJ. I must have bought the book when it was first published, because I have a first edition, but it's been sitting on my shelf collecting dust for years. It's great to see such a range of ages participating. Good luck making it though the whole quote "project" unquote. :geek:

I am 33. Bought the book when I was 22 but never made it past first 100 pages several times. This time I will not stop.

I'm 45. Read the book when the paperback came out in 97-98. Have gone back and re-read many sections since but not a full read. Cannot concentrate on it properly during baseball season, so I'm going to read it over the winter.

I have read just about everything from IJ on. Have tried and failed with Broom and felt many of the Curious Hair stories were meh. However, the essays and everything since has been top-hole. Even tried the infinity book even though I know very little about math.

I'm 24. First time reading IJ --lagging behind a little having had my eyes glued to the TV watching the Williams sisters blow everyone away at SW19 again. Recently read This is Water; reckon I'll carry it around with me everwhere.

I'm 29 years old and I first read IJ when I was 21. It is somehow an entirely different book, and I know I will pick it up again when I'm much older, to see what kind of book it becomes.
