I am a big fan of locutions, anfractuous, and nepotistic.

I'm dying to know what Byzantine erotica is all about but, sadly, Google and Wikipedia are of no use. DFW probably could have told me that.

Kekulean

in this context, a running/interlocked pattern wherein the beginning of the pattern element arises from its end. After Kekule, the German organic chemist whose dream/vision of a snake eating its tail lead to his understanding of the chemical structure of benzene.

Hal is staring at one of the Deans' ties during the interview just before he begins speaking.

I personally like "quincunx." It would be hard to pull off, but can you imagine the look on a person's face when you throw THAT down on the Scrabble board? It'd be good for a bingo plus a REALLY good chance to draw out a failed challenge! Seventy-six points plus any bonus squares... Wow.

Post-prandial, in the same paragraph as quincunx

Prandial meaning "of or related to a meal, esp. dinner."

As in "Schtitt favoring a post-prandial pipe."
