Hi, all. I'm trying to verify that all editions have Infinite Jest have "981" on the final page of the main text (i.e., before the endnotes begin). Editions I have confirmed this with: ![]() (paperback) ![]() (paperback) ![]() (paperback, thanks ) ![]() (paperback and hardcover, thanks and ) And someone said that the Kindle edition has 981 pages as well, though I'm not entirely sure what that means in the context of an e-book. Can someone verify? If you have this one any other edition--or one of the above editions in a binding not listed--could you let me know if it too is 981 pages? Thanks, Matthew Update: The Howling Fantods have settled the issue. Thanks, all. |

All editions of IJ have the same pagination (which makes it easier to co-ordinate group reads as we've discovered over at wallace-l). The only difference between the first edition and later editions are that some corrections were made to the first released trade paperback. I thought I had a nice link to all the differences over at The Howling Fantods! but maybe it got lost in the server change a few years back. I'll keep hunting. Nick http://www.thehowlingfantods.com/dfw EDIT Here's and example: Hardcover/Advance Reading Copy "You're how old, Hal, fourteen?" "I'll be thirteen in June." (27.23-24) "I'm twelve for Pete's sake." "... potentially gifted twelve-year-old" (30.10-11) Paperback/UK paperback "You're how old, Hal, fourteen?" "I'll be eleven in June." (27.23-24) "I'm ten for Pete's sake." "... potentially gifted ten-year-old" (30.10-11) |

Could you share the key phrases so that I bookmark them on my iPhone? I'm reading Infinite Jest in the eReader. I'd be more than happy to share the locations once I've found them. I'd switch to the Kindle on iPhone but I'm Canadian and don't have access. /bitter Miriam |
