In addition to multiple bookmarks and dictionaries, it appears as though I'm going to need my biographical and geographical dictionaries. Just in the first few pages, the name "Dennis Gabor" popped out. Had to look him up. Interesting. |

I just recently discovered the Dictionary.com iPhone/iPod touch app. It's actually much nicer than their web site. It's free, doesn't require an internet connection (except for the word-of-the-day feature), and hard to stump (based on Random House's unabridged dictionary). It's my constant companion now, whenever I'm reading anything. I find I bother to look up words on it that I wouldn't bother to otherwise (just getting by on context). Highly recommended. If I haven't got a dictionary handy, I tend to write the words down on a little scrap of paper and look them up later. I find it's also handy to keep a running list of acronyms, because I forget that kind of stuff pretty often. (Anyone remember what ATHSCME stands for? They make really big fans...) |

Yes, the acronyms tend to get mentioned again and again, and he assumes that you remember them. Love P.G.O.A.T. and the Eschaton terms. |

I just spent 15 minutes reading about the word Heliogabaline. |
