Near Stone Mtn. Anyone know a Decatur eatery with an appropriate place for a gang of book nerds to meet and talk?

Please. I am dying to have people with whom to discuss this book. I'm really far ahead but I promise I won't spoil anything. Atlanta book nerds unite!

I haven’t been participating in the forum, but I just signed up to take part in a meetup. I’d love to get together with y’all to discuss the book. I just went to a MetaFilter meetup a few weeks ago at a pub called The Thinking Man which is on the outskirts of Decatur. I thought it had a pretty good vibe and it wasn’t too loud, so it would be a good venue.

The Thinking Man tavern sounds like a good spot. Wednesday at 7pm? mote, is there a particular table we might select? Any need to make arrangements with the staff beforehand?

Thinking Man is a great bar! They have pretty good food, too. I am definitely interested in meeting up with you guys and Wed at 7 is good for me. It doesn't sound like we will have so many people that we need to warn them we're coming; there are often fairly large parties there.

Great. Thinking Man Tavern tomorrow (August 5) at 7pm. Bring your book and tell a server you're there for the book club. First person should if possible stake out a table for five.

I'm male, about 1.7m tall 72kg (5'7", 160lbs), brown hair, short beard going grey. I'll wear a red t-shirt.

Discussion will observer the spoiler line unless everyone present agrees otherwise. More thoughts on discussion as I ponder it a bit more.

Oh, sorry, I can’t make that. Wednesdays are pretty much permanently booked for me.

As for arrangements with the staff, I know that the organizer of the MeFi meetup had called ahead to let them know about how many people were expected to show up.

mote, sorry you can't make it. If you'd like to suggest a different day, feel free, nobody's in charge here.

I'm still planning to be there at the Thinking Man tonight and will try to attend any other sessions.
