What is Ann Kittenplan's tattoo? I thought it was mentioned when she was introduced, but I can't find the page (I would be grateful for page citation). And I think the tattoo is mentioned again (as a temporary tattoo) when she is waiting in the ETA office after being called in about the Eschaton debacle.

These are the ones I found.

p. 510
Quote:
She's in there unenclosed right now with pretty much every E.T.A. female under thirteen except Ann Kittenplan, whose tattooed knuckles are bruised and who looks somehow cross-dressed in a dress and (nonblue) barrette.

p. 514
Quote:
Ann Kittenplan, in her blue chair, is coolly appraising the little wash-offable tattoos she applies daily to the knuckles of her hands.

p. 520
Quote:
, and Kittenplan is chewing at her knuckles' tattoos, which is what she does instead of washing them off.

I don't think the tattoos themselves are ever described, but their location on her knuckles, combined with Kittenplan's temperament always made me mentally see them as the classic "Love" / "Hate" tattoos. Interesting that she has the sense to only use wash-off ones.

You may be correct that they are never described, but when I first read the pages cited above (510, 514, 520) I had the vague sense that I earlier had read a description of Ann Kittenplan's knuckles. Maybe I was confused and was half remembering the description of tattoos observed by Tiny Ewell and somehow came to think that Ann Kittenplan's tattoo (tho not observed by Tiny Ewell) had been described previously.

I, too, gravitated to assuming "Love"/"Hate". But then again, there aren't that many famous knuckle tattoos out there, I suppose.
