This tripped me up for a minute, and I wondered whether there was some sort of printing error that omitted some text. I figured I'd post it here in case any one else finds themselves similarly puzzled.

After a moment, I realized that the paragraph at the bottom of page 92 is a single line shy of the typical length of a full-page, and that the text starting on 93 is indeed a separate, unrelated vignette. Usually, books will have a little "~" or similar symbol when a separate section begins at the top of a new page. After plowing through so many dense, sometimes infrequently paragraphed pages, it can be hard to discern a subtle difference like that on page 92.

It's nice to have company through all this. I noticed it too.

Yep, hamsters. Feral hamsters. Not to be confused with the outsized feral infants. Despite their implacability and their enormous herd(s), the feral hamsters are apparently of normal size.

And the hamsters names are ..... Ward and June. Didn't anyone think of "Leave it to Beaver"? The parents' names on the show were Ward and June Cleaver. Had to be a reference to the iconic tv show from the 50's. Anyone agree or disagree? Does it make sense in that context? Seems like it to me. Hilarious!
