Another one of those little clever things that might or might not mean something: On p 227, Helen Steeply's "putative curriculum vitae" starts with Time magazine and then progresses with publication titles in progressively smaller time increments: Decade, Southwest Annual, Newsweek, Ladies Day, Moment.

Yeah, but I think the real one is more upscale than the one in IJ is intended to be!
