Re the movie "Nosferatu" - correction & clarification. You state that the studio was "unable to secure the rights" to Dracula. That is not what happened. No attempt was ever made to get permission. Florence Stoker knew nothing about the movie until it premiered in Berlin. There was no effort by Murnau and the studio to disguise the fact that the film was based on "Dracula" - it clearly stated so in the credits. As for referring to vampires as "nosferatu", Murnau lifted that directly from Stoker's novel. Stoker had borrowed the word from "Transylvanian Superstitions" by Emily Gerard (1885). (By the way, the word "nosferatu" does not exist in the Romanian language." Gerard somehow mis-transcribed some other word.)

A Taste of Love: The Dracula Puppet Musical, from the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Classic.

If you count League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as an adaptation, than Anno Dracula is on my list. One of the best Dracula books ever.

Certainly some of my favorites here and a new one - I have got to get the board game! Now I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest another of my favorite vampire dramas - Dark Shadows. Yes, giving away my age here, but I loved coming home from school and watching it. Oh that Barnabas!!
